As an electrician working for domestic clients in England and Wales, you are required to either register for a recognised competent persons scheme for Approved Document P of the Building Regulations, or submit every installation to your local building control. Scotland has recently introduced a similar requirement and it is expected that Northern Ireland will soon follow.

With the huge number of electricians requiring assessment, we would urge members in Northern Ireland to consider applying now in order to ensure a smooth entry into the scheme.
